Abraham Lincoln

Over 600,000 dead! The Civil war resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of American men. Abraham Lincoln wanted a country that was under one flag, desired to see all people free, and to make America a great place. Abraham Lincoln is one of many great successful leaders who achieved power and fame by commitment and persuasiveness through fighting for what he thought was important in life. He felt that keeping America together and seeing that all men were free was worth fighting for.

After fighting his way up the class ladder to become an important politician he successfully became the president of the united states. As president he fought to end slavery, improve the health care system, promote better education and to strive for success. Through this he came out on top in society. Lincoln accomplished many goals and impressive things throughout his life. He played a huge part in stopping slavery and winning the civil war.

One quote that helped Lincoln through life and kept him fighting and striding for success came from when he talked about what kept him motivated. "I remember my mother's prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life." This statement shows how he loved his mother and wanted to make her happy, he fought to impress and show the world what he was capable of. Another factor is that he is religious. this means that he relied on god to keep him going and help him through the hard times. With religion on his side, he had positive motives and beliefs to guide him through life and achieve the best for all including the creation of the 13th amendment which abolished slavery.

He was putting a big effort into stopping slavery and keeping the southern states of America a happy place before they succeeded out of the country. A lot of the land owners had slaves and needed them to keep the prices of cotton and tabacco cheap. The landowners didn't want to end slavery. Abraham was successful in the war which kept the south part of the union and also ended slavery.

Abraham Lincoln became one of the most successful presidents America ever had. He is still revered for keeping America together and ending slavery. Although many people died for this to come about he fought for what he believed in and I feel what he did was important and worthwhile.

Peace

I think that peace is a very important thing in life for everyone around the world. Its whats inside every person and makes them happy.

One thing that is worth fighting for is peace. Like in Africa everyones dying from diseases and all they want is to live peacefully. Also in .... they have been fighting against there government and a lot of rioting and deaths have been caused. In the more peaceful countries they don't have as much people dying since there more developed and organized. Like the presidents are trying to please there country and keep them all well. So the countries that are more peaceful and more developed don't have as much conflict in there life compared to the others.

People are fighting for peace all over the world like in the underdeveloped countries they are either starving to death or there dying of diseases. Diseases in some countries are getting spread a lot. In a documentary they were interviewing a couple people from the uneducated countries and they said they have sex most weekends and they dont't use condoms because they think that condoms don't matter. But the people who are educated use condoms because they know what they could get and how it could affect there life, there kids life, and grandkids life and so on. Thats why in some relation ship they go to the doctor instead of having sex and the doctor transfers it.

Also in a lot of the Middle East countries that have been fighting against there government because the president and are actually getting what they want since almost all of them have been getting to reelect there leaders. So there was a lot of people protesting out on the street trying to get the message to the government that they weren't happy. Then the police had to be on the streets and hold all of them back and a lot of people got hurt and thousands have been getting killed. This caused a lot of conflict to those countries but in the end it must be better because they got to chose again and hopefully the right one this time.

So I think that the Middle East is doing the right thing if there leader isn't helping. Also there has been many people and organizations donating and trying to help the underdeveloped countries to be more successful in life. Most of people in the underdeveloped countries die before they get to 40 years old. So there are many people helping and organizations like the U.N had to help some of the countries because it was getting out of control and it helped because they could have meetings or talk to the government. So peace is definitely worth fighting for if not there would be many people dying and many people unhappy with there countries. Thats why their is those nice people to help in this world who make a massive effect on how we live today.

Save The Dolphins

This photo is a bunch of dolphins in a boat in Japan. In Japan they are killing up to 20,000 dolphins every year. These dolphins are all slaughtered and dead.

I think Dolphins are worth fighting for because they are living creatures that are harmless and kind and people like to play and swim with them and also watch them. They could get tons of money using them wisely. They kill 20,000 dolphins every year and if they keep this up they wont have many more.
These Dolphins are also not good to eat because inside of them they have this thing called mercury which is poisonous which is brought into the sea by waist and thats what a lot of fish have in them. This stuff is bad and mercury is also used in thermometers. In a Dolphin they have about 2000 ppm (parts per a million) in a lot of them.
They are also overfishing all the dolphins so the population is going down. Also a lot of the dolphins are getting caught in the nets by accident, by the fishers fishing for other fish. So they could either make there traps less deadly so if a dolphin gets caught they can release them and keep the ones that they want then kill them.
Poisoning of the dolphins, overfishing and exploiting them in fairs and shows needs to stop. We can begin to do this by using them for a better causes or leaving them where they belong in the sea.

The Rights of Rosa Parks

This is a photo of Rosa Park when she was refusing to move to the back of the bus for a white man. This was in the time when blacks had no rights and she was tired of being forced around. She was a very independent woman who helped the black race win rights, She was a huge step in history.

I think fighting for rights is extremely important because I know that if I saw black people being forced around I wouldn't like it at all, and I would certainly not do it myself. So if Rosa Parks didn't boycott there could still be racism and laws like blacks must sit in the back of the bus.

Another thing that they did not let black kids do, is ride to school by bus, only by car or walk. Rosa Park helped a lot of people by refusing to give the man her street. She also was thanked by the "Missouri Legislature" who had a vote to name a street and they ended up calling it the "Rosa Parks Highway."

Without rights, the world would be a bunch of racism and fighting and a whole big mess. Rosa Park was an Inspirational woman because she helped fight against civil rights and then also teamed up with Martin Luther King Jr to try to help mor.

My New World!!!

Peace is defined as the normal, non waring condition of a nation, group of nations, or the world.

If I could make a world the way I wanted I would hope for a world with peace. I think Peace is a needed characteristic because without it we would be living in fear and afraid of conflict being pushed upon you.

In a peaceful time you can plan for the future without being afraid. I can plan to go to university and know that it will happen. I can travel the land without worrying about mines and explosives or running into armies. Also in peaceful times I will not be drafted into an army, so I can plan my life ahead. I can go to school without worrying about not coming back.

Another reason peace would be a needed characteristic in my new world is so that all nations would never have to worry about war with each other. For example Vietnam in the 60's and 70's was having a civil war (north against the south). Because of this war Vietnam was not able to grow to its potentials. The economy was effected because of unemployment, very little trade, high cost for war supplies and the number of people fighting. That was why the war was so bad. It was a nation split and very poor. When peace happened in the mid seventies the country was able to refocus its efforts to become a strong nation again. Peace led Vietnam to be one of Asia's top successful trading countries.

Without peace we would not live in fear, we could plan for the future, we could focus on what we wanted out of life and countries could grow to their potentials. Peace is what the world needs to be a great place to live and grow.

Profile LL for LUCKY LEARNING

I learn best when I get to act out in a group because its more of an active activity and I like to move around. I aslo learn best when im in groups because then I dont get frustrated when I forget things. sat in the back of the class room in the corner which makes me feel less surrounded by everyone.

I need to sit in the back of the class room in the corner which makes me feel less surrounded by everyone. That way I can concentrate better and get less distracted. It also helps me if I listen to music because it calms me down and it makes me only concentrate on my work not whats around me.

The strategies that will help me in my learning is moving around more and going outside where I can work in the fresh air and feel like I have more space away from everyone. Also to learn in a fun way because it gets into my head better.

I would like my teachers to know this about me so they know how I can concentrate better, where I feel more comfortable and to know that i get easily distracted and I

MY MYTHS

The myths that i have read have blood, cosmic egg, sacrifice. In Phan Ku he sacrificed him self so that his blood would turn into rivers. his hair would turn into trees, fleas would turn into humans and so on. Another myth that had sacrifice was

The cosmic egg myths i read were Phan Ku, he came out of an egg.

Some myths that had blood were Phan Ku when he killed himself his blood turned into river

Themses of are at the center of many myths which is unusual becausethe places are very far away from eachother
